Provenance & sustainability.

Where does Cow & Sow source its beef from?

Cow & Sow is proud to work with trusted British farmers to source exceptional-quality beef with full traceability from farm to fork. Our beef is grass-fed on family farms in Wiltshire, including West End Farm in Devizes, as well as carefully selected producers such as Scurf Dyke Farm in Yorkshire. We work closely with the expert butchers at Walter Rose & Son to ensure every cut meets our high standards for quality, provenance and flavour.

What specific cattle breeds are served at Cow & Sow?

We are proud to support and work with UK farmers to bring some of this country’s finest beef and pork cuts to our grills. Our selection includes carefully sourced British and heritage breeds chosen for their exceptional flavour, quality and marbling, including Olive-Fed English Wagyu and Black Angus. Alongside our beef offering, we also serve premium Hampshire × Landrace pork, sourced from trusted British producers who share our commitment to provenance and animal welfare.

How long is the meat aged at Cow & Sow restaurants?

Our signature beef is dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days to enhance its natural flavour and tenderness. This traditional ageing process allows the beef to develop a richer taste and more refined texture, helping to create the exceptional steak experience Cow & Sow is known for. We carefully select and age our beef to ensure every cut reaches our grills at its very best.

How are the steaks cooked at Cow & Sow?

Steaks at Cow & Sow are lightly seasoned and precision-cooked over an intense, high-heat chargrill to achieve a distinct caramelised crust. Once cooked, every steak is brushed with a signature herb-infused butter and rested for a minimum of eight minutes before serving to lock in juiciness.

Is Cow & Sow a sustainable restaurant group?

Yes. Cow & Sow is proud to be a certified B Corp, reflecting our commitment to balancing exceptional hospitality with positive social and environmental impact. We actively measure and manage our carbon footprint through partnerships with Green Small Business and Ecologi, while supporting important community and charitable initiatives through organisations including Frank Water, FareShare and LoveBrum. We continually look for ways to operate more responsibly, from sourcing high-quality British produce to supporting the communities in which we work.

Is your halal beef British?

Is your halal beef certified?

Yes. We work with trusted halal-certified suppliers who prepare our beef in line with halal standards.

Can I order any steak from the halal menu?
